Meet our Principal

Jenny Gibbons – Principal, Collister Elementary School

Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Gibbons as Principal of Collister Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.

Ms. Gibbons has served as Assistant Principal at White Pine Elementary School since 2025 and brings more than two decades of dedicated service to Boise’s elementary students, staff, and families. Throughout her career, she has served as a District Reading Specialist, Building Reading Specialist, Instructional Lead, classroom teacher, and Special Education paraprofessional—demonstrating a deep commitment to supporting students at every level.

A passionate advocate for literacy and evidence-based instruction, Ms. Gibbons has led schoolwide initiatives aligned with the Science of Reading and state dyslexia legislation. Her work reflects a strong commitment to the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan’s focus on preparing students for success in college, career, and in life. She is a steadfast supporter of student-centered learning and standards-based reporting, ensuring that instruction is responsive, meaningful, and focused on helping each and every child grow.

Ms. Gibbons is known for her collaborative leadership style, her ability to build strong relationships with families and staff, and her dedication to fostering positive, inclusive school cultures where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed. Her leadership reflects the District’s core values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork.

She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Boise State University (2024), a Literacy Endorsement (2019), a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University.
