Information Regarding Collister's Counseling Program

Hello! My Name is Cortney Osborne and this is my 13th year as the School Counselor at Collister Elementary

I feel like I have the best job in the whole school! I love my students and am committed 100% to see them succeed.

I grew up in rural Idaho, moved away for college, and made Boise my home in 2007. When I am not at school I love spending time with my family. I love to hike in the foothills, ride bikes on the greenbelt, downhill ski in the winter, and enjoy great food with friends!

The Counseling Office is an integral part of school life -- What does that look like and how is my student involved?

I, Mrs. Osborne, visit each classroom every other week teaching 14-16 lessons in each classroom. You can find my teaching schedule here. I am also on the playground most days that I am at school to help scaffold conflict resolution and friendship skills. I also problem solve with teachers, support emotional needs for staff, and help maintain a positive building climate.

Students can request to see me individually for brief problem solving by filling out a paper form or this google form.

What are We Learning?

A colorful poster titled 'It's Your Choice!' features a wheel with cartoon frogs illustrating different problem-solving strategies.
A circular diagram illustrates eight key areas of well-being for young people, each represented by a segment with text and a photo.
Illustration showing three steps for managing big feelings: Listen to your body, Name the Feeling, and Ask: What does the feeling need.
