This is a short monthly note from your school health office, with reminders, seasonal health tips, and a peek at what we're teaching in health lessons. This first issue covers the back-to-school basics. |

- Tell us about any condition that might need attention during school; asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes, and anything else.
- List all medications your child takes, even ones given only at home
- Send us the provider's note for any injury or illness that comes with restrictions — a cast, crutches, or no PE or recess — any time it happens, not just at the start of the year
- The sooner we know, the sooner we can put a plan in place

- Any medication given at school, prescription or over-the-counter needs a Medication Authorization Form. Email or call us and we'll get one to you.
- Medications are stored and given in the health office. Please bring them in yourself, in the original container with the pharmacy label visible. If you need that bottle at home too, we can make a copy of the label to keep with the medication here.
- Some students may carry their own inhaler with a signed authorization to self-carry form —usually older students who've shown they're ready. Daily medications stay in the health office regardless of age.
💡 If your child has an EpiPen or Neffy, ask your provider for an extra to keep at school. One less thing to track down in a hurry. |
Please keep your child home for: - A fever of 100.4°F or higher
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Anything that keeps them from taking part in the school day
When can they come back? - Fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine
- 24 hours after the last time they vomited or had diarrhea
Some illnesses are different. - Strep throat, pink eye, chickenpox, impetigo, and head lice have their own rules, handled case by case. If your child is diagnosed with something, let us know and we'll tell you when they can come back.
